Isabella Anderson Shanks Knudsen was born August 12, 1874 in Leith, Midlothian, Scotland and is believed to be the daughter of Archibald Shanks and Elizabeth Anderson. She was married to Lorenz Knudsen and lived in St. Petersburg, Florida. In 1930 she was living with her daughter Mrs. William Mebane in Asheville, N.C. and her daughter Bertha Knudsen was married in Hendersonville to Russell Gilbart in 1926
