This tombstone was hand-scribed in 1896 when this young man died just under 22 years of age. Although the inscription says “Gone but not Forgotten” this tombstone was not found in the inventories of tombstones completed in 1989, 1994, 2002 and 2014 at the cemetery. It was however identified in the 1937 WPA (Works Project Administration) inventory but at that time incorrectly recorded his death as October 12, 1896. Son of James D and Elizabeth Jones Gilbert
