Rosa Patterson Hefner Williams
Rosa Patterson Hefner Williams, wife of
George William Hefner
According to Maude Hefner Coppedge in The Heritage of Henderson County, Volume II, “George William “Will” Hefner (1882 – 1916) son of George Anthony and Mary Fortune Hefner, married in 1903 Rosa Lee Patterson (1873 -1952), daughter of Luther Calvin and Louisa Hamilton Patterson. Will was in the mercantile business in Toxaway, North Carolina prior to returning to Henderson County. Will and Rosa Lee bought and farmed the area now known as Echo Acres. He also taught school at Valley Hill and was very active in the Valley Hill Baptist Church. Rosa, as she was called, loved people and spent her life ministering to her family and community. She gave the property for Faith Tabernacle, now known as Faith Bible Church, where she was a faithful member for many years. Will and Rosa Lee had three children: Mary Louise, Maude Eliza and Margaret
