Jacob Lee Johnson, age 42, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning September 2, 2026 in Etowah, NC.
He is survived by his parents , Charles Lee Johnson of East Flat Rock, NC, and Charlene Young Newman of Kodak, TN; his wife, Charlotte Algie Johnson; his son, Logan Alexander Johnson, and wife Ava of Pisgah Forest, NC, his daughter, Lilianna Sage O’Connell, and husband Brandon; and his beautiful Granddaughter, Diana Kay O’Connell of Rosman, NC; and three siblings Graham Phillips, Courtney Phillips and Cody Humphries.
A descendant of several Carolina pioneers, he loved the mountains and his family. He was born in Transylvania County, NC, his spiritual curiosity took him around the world. A US Navy Veteran, he was passionate about cooking and made it his art and his living. Always loving and ready with support and a smile, even when life handed him trouble, he was the heart of our family, and the world is a poorer place for his absence.
